Everyone knows the famous sands of Coral Bay, but where do you go when you want to escape the crowds and discover a real slice of coastal paradise? The Paphos district is dotted with stunning, lesser-known coves and beaches cherished by locals. Here are five of our favourite hidden gems, perfect for a quiet swim and an authentic Cyprus beach day.
1White River Beach (Akamas Peninsula)
Just before you enter the rugged Akamas Peninsula, a small turn-off leads to this wild, beautiful cove. It's a mix of sand and pebble with crystal-clear water, flanked by stunning white cliffs.
Insider Tip: It's a fantastic spot for snorkelling. There are no facilities here, so pack your own water and snacks.
2Venus Beach (Kato Paphos)
While located in front of a major hotel, Venus Beach has a secret advantage that locals love: a man-made breakwater creates a calm, protected lagoon with shallow, waveless waters. This makes it one of the safest and easiest beaches for families with small children to enjoy a stress-free dip.

5The Sea Caves Cove (Peyia)
